Pre-Fall Bag from Coach’s Chelsea Collection

I posted about this Coach bag over at DelectablyChic! this morning, but thought I’d write something a little different for Shorty Stories.  I fell in love with the colour, “curry” – a tomato-y shade that looks salmon in certain light(funny how the colours are food-connected) since I saw another bag displayed in the window.  I knew that the larger bags were going to be out of my price range ($798 US/Canada) and too heavy (lots of metal).  However, there’s one smaller bag (appropriately named the Flagship Leather Small Bag) in that shade that was not only much lighter, but also at a much, much better price point ($278). It also has a vintage-y look that would look amazing with Banana Republic’s upcoming Mad Men collection.

Dress:  Banana Republic, size 0P (old)
Shoes: Stuart Weitzman, size 5
Bag: Coach’s “Flagship Leather Small” bag in curry

It does seem to have more of a fall shade to it and really pops with black.  However, it isn’t too bad with lighter colours either (especially creams and tans).  The bag also comes in a silver/gold combo that will also flow very nicely into the fall.

Size-wise, the bag measures 9 3/4″ (L) 6 3/4″ (H) x 3″ (W) and can hold a large wallet as well as keys, lipstick and a smartphone – what I like to call my “essentials” – all in the main compartment.  There are also two outside pockets for your phone and perhaps a small notepad or compact.  The bag is very versatile, and works well as a work  bag (if you don’t take a lot of files with you) as well as for the weekend. I think it’s a great addition to anyone’s bag collection, especially if you’re trying to steer away from boring old black!
