The t+j Designs Style Challenge!

Hosted by I am Stylish/T + J Designs and judged by blogs Alterations Needed, Extra Petite and I am Khatu, participants were asked to “take a piece of jewelry, maybe a statement piece that you don’t wear often but would like to or just your favorite stand out piece and put an outfit together.”

If you’ve read my earlier post, “Trying to Get into More Glitzy Stuff,” you’d know that I don’t wear much jewellery.  Therefore, finding the right pieces for my outfit was a bit of a challenge.  Thank goodness these bracelets (or should I say, Wrizgliz?) were verrrrrrry affordable (as in around $25 each), so it wasn’t like I was spending a fortune.  It’s getting me started, though and I think I might wear these things more often.  Here’s my outfit, complete with the wrizgliz!!! 🙂

Hair up:

Hair down:

  • Dress: Maeve from Anthropologie (0P) – Fall 2011 collection (no longer online)
  • Shoes: Anyi Lu, size 5
  • Bracelets: Jacob (cuff) and RW&Co. (beads). A third that you can’t see well is a “standard” that I wear daily
  • Necklace, rings (wedding and engagement) and earrings are standard pieces I wear regularly

I decided to go with the green dress as I’m also challenging myself not to wear as much black.  My closet is full of black and charcoal and it’s getting a bit sad! I think this dress is going to be one of my holiday event outfits (just won’t wear it with the leopard print shoes.  Don’t think they’d go)

It’s funny how we gravitate to the same colours isn’t it?  Good for you for challenging yourself.  I love those jewels, hopefully you can add more to your collection soon!

    • I find that I’m doing a lot of wrizgliz/bracelets or earrings because they’re easier to put on/take off…my necklace pretty much stays on ALL THE TIME.  And too many rings (pretty much stick to my wedding/engagement rings) would look a little off on my small hands…

  • You did a great job – love that bracelet!

  • so pretty!  You did a great job, I love the dress and the accessories!  Thanks for being part of the challenge.

  • wow that bracelet makes a statement! The green would be perfect for the holidays 🙂
