June Poll Results: Most Like Seeing a Mix of Models and Celebrities in Magazines

First of all, apologies for the delay in posting the June results as well as the July poll – being out of town and then immediately having out-of-town guests is a lot of work!  Last month, we asked readers whether they preferred seeing models or celebrities in magazines. We were not exactly too surprised with the results as most felt that a mix of both was the ideal (at 46.2%). Some 23.1% believed that celebrities were better, since they tend to vary in body shape (at least compared to models) and another 23.1% didn’t seem to care.  7.1% felt that only models should appear in magazines.

We do have to say that we were surprised at the LOW number of people wanting to see models and models only.  It seems that every month (or even week), there’s some sort of complaint online about the overflow of “non-models” in publications (while at the same time, complaining that models are too skinny or too white or too whatever – basically no diversity).  If people have such a problem, why not celebrities?  At least until there IS some more diversity (especially in size.  I think there are too many people out there who aren’t bright enough to realize that a size zero Olsen twin is proportionately “bigger” and closer to “an average woman” than a 5’11” model who wears a size zero.  These are probably the same people who believe that any adult woman who weighs under 100 lb is “anorexic.”)…anyway…
